This three hour program includes Social systems fighting formations the greeting of the home beer drinking ceremony the Sangomas the Nyanga beadwork, pottery, beer making, spear throwing etc. This is followed by a full Buffet lunch in the African fashion After lunch we continue to St.Lucia Wetlands a UNESCO World Heritage Site with many eco systems. After booking into our hotel we will embark on a 2 hour Hippo cruise on the St. Lucia Estuary. The St Lucia Estuary system is the largest estuary system in Africa. Being a World Heritage site variety is the key and the system supports a wide variety of animals including the Hippopotamus which is in fact descendent from the Whale family which lives in harmony with the Nile Salt Water Crocodile. The system also supports a biodiversity of fresh and saltwater fish. St Lucia is also privileged to be home to the Humpback Whale and Leather Back Turtle. In the evening you can have dinner in the many cafes and restaurants in the village, or stay in the hotel and have your dinner near the swimming pool or on the terrace. (Dinner own account) Day 2: We have a good buffet breakfast and drive to Hluhluwe Game Reserve to spend most of the day there in pursuit of the big 5 (elephant, rhino, lion, buffalo and leopard) and many other animals. The Hluhluwe/Imfolozi Game Reserve is the oldest game reserve in the country. Famous for saving the White Rhino from extinction, the 96 000-hectare reserve is a must see destination for any foreign visitor. After arriving back at the hotel you can relax on the pool deck or take a walk in the village. Day 3 & 4: After a hearty breakfast we can visit the St. Lucia Crocodile Centre the see these pre historic creatures from close up, before we make our way to our next destination; Leopard Mountain Game Lodge in the Zululand Rhino reserve. Here we will be spoiled for the next two days. All meals and game drives in open safari vehicle are included. All of the accommodation is luxurious - nine stone and thatch chalets nestled on the cliff top overlooking the Umsunduze River below and the distant Lebombo mountains. Each chalet has its own private deck with hammock, bathroom en-suite, incredible views, mini bar, and tea and coffee facilities. The main lodge features a very comfortable dining room, bar, lounge and deck area. Other amenities include a unique rock swimming pool. A day at Leopard Mountain starts when you are woken up by the soft bush sounds surrounding your chalet as dawn breaks. After a good cup of coffee and some traditional rusks you will be escorted to your open game vehicle and introduced to your knowledgeable ranger. Your ranger will then introduce you to the wildlife wonders that is abound at Leopard Mountain. As you explore the lush Zululand Rhino Reserve, a BIG 5 game reserve, you will have the opportunity of a close encounter with an endangered black rhino or perhaps a cheetah, buffalo or elephant, as well as various plains game and smaller interesting species. On return to the lodge a delectable breakfast awaits after which you can have a leisurely morning at your own pace or join your ranger for an incredible wildlife experience at our hide which is situated at a watering hole from where you can be part of Nature's daily spectacle. In the early afternoon you will be invited to come and enjoy an Afternoon Tea while overlooking the spectacular views from the viewing deck. After quenching your thirst and having a bite to eat, you will be off again with your ranger to explore some different areas on the Reserve. During your drive you will be treated to sundowners or two while watching the sun set over the mountains and possibly hear the lions roaring in the background. On return to the lodge you will be just in time to freshen up for a dinner under African skies. Once the feast in the Boma is over guests are usually inspired to sit around the open bonfire to reminisce about the day gone past, and to share exciting stories of wildlife encounters. Day 5: After Breakfast and a Game activity we will make our way back to Durban, with Stops on the way. Arrive in Durban in the afternoon and drop off at hotel.
