Places to visit:
* Moremi Game Reserve: A protected area, declared a Game Reserve in 1963 by Chief Moremi. Situated in the eastern reaches of the Okavango. Excellent Game Viewing and wonderful Safari Accommodation. * Okavango Delta: Botswanas unique attraction. A magical water wonderland formed by the annual flood of fresh water from Angolas Rivers onto the Botswana Delta. Here you see nature slide past, from the comfort of your traditional canoe. * Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park: The first of the new Peace Parks. It straddles the Botswana and South African frontiers in the extreme southwest of Botswana. Famous for its red sands and black maned Lions. Access in Botswana is from Makopong or Mabuasehube, where there are a number of interesting pans. * Chobe Riverfront: Here you will see herds of animals come to the Chobe River to drink. The largest savannah elephant population in the world and also the most popular destination for our safari guests. The profusion of game can be viewed from the river bank or from a cruise boat. * Tsodilo Hills: The centre of Botswanas artistic cultural heritage. Site of the Stone Age rock paintings by the ancestors of the Bushmen, San People. The art gallery of the Stone Age. * Drotskys Caves and AHA Hills: These Caves with stalagmites and stalactites are found along the border of Botswana and Namibia. These ancient hills rise suddenly out of the flat Kalahari Desert. The total lack of water results in an eerie dearth of animal life, and there are no birds. A place of total stillness often referred to as the end of the world. * Nxai Pan National Park: Easy access for 4x4 vehicles. These grass covered pans attract huge herds of game in summer. They also attract predators, what makes this area a very interesting game viewing experience. Here you find the great Baobabs that are immortalised in the paintings of Thomas Baines. * Makgadikgadi Game Reserve: Here you find the remnants of a super lake that dried up some thousands of years ago. These huge Salt Pans are visible from space. You can see salt crystals glittering on these pans. A chance to experience the vastness of the Kalahari. * Tuli Block: A private concession overlooking the Limpopo River. Here you can do riding, walking and cycling safaris. Exciting Night Drive Safaris are here on offer under the guidance of excellent trackers. * Deception Valley: An ancient riverbed in the north of the central Kalahari Game Reserve. Fresh grass after the summer rain attracts large herds of antelope, giraffe and ostrich and all the main predators. * Linyanti Marshes: A mini version of the Okavango delta. The Linyanti, the name of the northern part of the Chobe river, flows into a 9000 square kilometre floodplain, known as the Linyanti Marshes, rich in wildlife and natural beauty. Further south, the savuti channel, flowing from the Linyanti River, but now dry for many years is nevertheless a haven for abundant wildlife. * Gabarone: The Capital of Botswana. Centre of the Government, Commerce and Industry. Here you meet the Botswana people, shop in Shopping Malls and traditional markets. See African art and visit the museum galleries. From here you will be able to do excursions to Mokolodi, Gabarone Game reserve and the Gabarone Dam.
Botswana is a land-locked country dominated in geographical terms by the Kalahari Desert - a sand-filled basin averaging 1,100 metres above sea level. The country lies between longitudes 20 and 30 degrees east of Greenwich and between the latitudes 18 and 27 degrees approximately south of the Equator.
Botswana is bordered by Zambia and Zimbabwe to the northeast, Namibia to the north and west, and South Africa to the south and southeast. At Kazungula, four countries - Botswana, Zimbabwe, Zambia and Namibia - meet at a single point mid-stream in the Zambezi River
The country is situated in the southern African region and about two-thirds of Botswana lies within the Tropics; it is bisected by the Tropic of Capricorn (the imaginary line of latitude which is 23 30' south of Equator) just south of the town of Mahalapye This is the most southern latitude where the sun is directly overhead at noon. This happens on December 22st, the longest day of the year in this hemisphere.
The distance between the extreme north and the extreme south of Botswana is about 1,110 kilometres. It is 960 kilometres across at its widest. The area of Botswana is approximately 581,730 square kilometres and is about the size of France or Kenya. It is approximately 500 km from the nearest coastline, to the southwest.
